August 1, 2011            "News For Those Who Think With Their Hearts"                Volume VII ~ Issue III
__________________________________________________________________________________________

Thursday we will load our chariot and head to the HOOT Painting Conference in Columbus, Ohio. We will be stopping on Saturday for a seminar in the Memphis area and drive to Columbus the day after the seminar.

Love the HOOT Show! You will too if you join us and treat yourself to a wonderful time. Classes are still available, free demos each day of the show and of course, the most important event of all… shopping. I will demo my method of tin prep; old tin, new tin both primed and unprimed.

Della and Company

I am teaching a fun piece "Blackbird and Cherries"; It is painted on our Slant Top Box. It can also be painted on our Antique Lunch Pail. The pattern for both surfaces are included in the pattern. The pattern will be for sale in our booth at HOOT and online the day the show opens.

Information about HOOT can be found here. Heart of Ohio Tole

ARTIST EXPO
Artist Expo's sixth annual conference ended last week as shoppers filled their cars with treasures and unbelievable bargains from Della and Company's booth and the Folk Art Tin SALE Booth. I am not sure, but I think Golda and Shara hold the record of the most items purchased. Those two checked the daily sales each day of the show. And each time they managed to find something else they could not live without… thank you ladies. The show will be in June next year. Painters from Louisiana, New York, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas shopped in our booth. Artist Expo Houston website.

SHOWS IN 2011
Sept. 21-25 Raindrop Chapter Painting Conference, Portland, OR
This will be the first time to exhibit at the Portland Show. If you live in the area tell your painting friends that Della and Company will be there with a booth filled with wonderful painted samples and Folk Art Tin.

Oct. 5-9 New England Traditions (NET) Painting Conference, Marlborough, MA
This year the show has moved from Providence, RI to a new location. We are excited about the move. We visited the location last year and think it will be so much nicer to not have to deal with the city traffic in Providence. The parking for the hotel is more than ample and we can stay in the hotel with easy access to the show and our car.

PAINTWORKS
Trudy Beard PaintWorks Ornament

If visions of sugar plums are not on your mind, there will be visions of them when you see the PaintWorks Annual Christmas Ornament issue. Thirty seven talented artist's designs are featured. Nine artists used Folk Art Tin as their surfaces in this spectacular issue. If you have not received your issue it will be in your mail box soon.

NEW PATTERNS
Yes, more new patterns… ROSEMARY WEST, TRUDY BEARD and DONNA SKULLY have new patterns.

And patterns for projects in past issues of PaintWorks

We recently received patterns from TRACEY MOREAU for the ornaments she painted for the 2010 Annual Ornament Issue. Her pattern was so popular. ROSEMARY WEST will have several patterns for designs that appeared in past issues of PaintWorks as well.

NOT SO NEW…. And NOT ON THE WEB!!!
Two patterns by Maxine Thomas were sold at the shows, but for some reason we had not placed them on the website. A number of artists have designs that have appeared in magazines and they will be added to our web soon.

All of these will be added to our home page as soon as we return from Ohio. DellaAndCompany.com

We will add an "oldie, but goodie pattern" of Shara Reiner's. It should have already been added, but is not on the web… someone has not been on top of things. (Have to dock her paycheck!) It will be added and will be a special value. Buy the tree and receive the pattern free… now that is a deal?

I hope to have the time to scan all of these for the web before we leave for Ohio. If not it will be two weeks before we return and they will go on the web then.
